Year 5 Azariah organizes outreach event for 48 children
by Aison Sayson
Year 5 Azariah students, teachers, and children aged seven to eleven years old filled the Student Center for an outreach event held on September 12. The event aimed to meet and interact with children through musical activities, games, and a role play that explored Christian themes.
The students welcomed the children through conversations and activities. The children displayed talents in cartwheeling and breakdancing as an icebreaker. Event hosts Charlee Sy and Matt Pulga then kicked off the program, inviting the children to shout “Mabuhay!”
The program officially began with the opening prayer led by Wyanne Fenix. The students then performed a song and dance performance of worship songs “Every Move I Make” and “Light of the World”.
Gamemasters Janine Chua and Elle Tsai introduced the game “Pass the Message”, dividing the children into groups that competed for prizes. They relayed spiritual-themed messages such as “God is love” and “The Lord guides us”.
A second group led by Wyanne Fenix and Miqa Tengchuachay hosted the game, “The Boat is Sinking”, while the third group led by Audrey Rillera showcased a roleplay of the Bible story “Jesus Turns Water into Wine”.
Rillera also delivered the closing prayer, and a photo opportunity for the organizers and participants followed.
The children also received loot bags containing school supplies and well-wishes from Pulga.
“Thank you for coming and I hope this event has touched your hearts,” he said.
