PYPX 2026 calls for ‘voices that matter’

With the theme “Voices that Matter, Leading with Accountability for a Sustainable Future,” Grade 5 students of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) discussed pressing world issues through the PYP Exhibition held from April 16 to 17.

In the opening program held at the Theater Hall, the students recounted the lines of inquiry they explored for each unit and explained the meaning behind the theme of PYPX. “Our voices carry more than words. They carry intention, conviction, and the power to move others,” a Grade 5 student said.

They also delivered special performances that campaigned for civic accountability and shared testimonies about their PYPX journey. One student shared about the challenges they faced, especially in time management, and the skills they developed throughout the process: “Beyond the projects and presentations, we learned [about] collaboration, communication and caring for others. They are skills that we will carry with us every day.”

During the two-day exhibit in the Preschool Gym, Grade 5 students displayed information about their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on their respective booths. They discussed the causes, effects, and possible solutions for issues like hunger, poverty, discrimination, pollution, deforestation, child and animal abuse, gaming addiction, and mental health. They also prepared short activities like games to engage their audience better and to advocate for their causes more effectively. School administrators, parents, and guests from other IB schools roamed around their booths and witnessed the event.
