Preschoolers close the school year with a musical journey
Kinder, Junior Kinder and Nursery students took the Theater Hall stage last April 30 to culminate the school year 2025-2026 with Press Play: A Musical Journey.
Each preschool class represented a decade of music history from the 1960s to the present. Junior Kinder Patience introduced the phonograph and danced along to the sound of the ‘60s, wearing polka dots and plaid dresses. The Toddler Joy brought the radio and disco era of the ‘70s to life with their sparkly hats and gloves. Junior Kinder Kindness performed some of the famous songs from the 80s: Footloose and Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. The neon shirts, headbands and leg warmers they wore matched the colorful cassette tapes of the decade. Kinder Goodness then brought the Walkman and the 90s songs back. With their white shirts and jumper jeans, they danced to Bongga Ka Day, Mga Kababayan Ko and Hataw at Galaw. Representing the rise of compact discs and the turn of the millennium, Nursery Peace wore cheerleader uniforms and carried with them gold pompoms and colorful ribbons, as they grooved to We’re All in This Together and Chinese songs from the 2000s. Presenting the 2010s, Kinder Faithfulness drew back from the era of iPods and mp3 players and showed a Zumba dance for Girl in the Mirror, Happy, and Can’t Stop the Feeling. They wore varsity jackets, jogging pants and baseball caps, which were all fashionable at the time. Showcasing the rise of music streaming in the present times, Kinder Gentleness jived to Salamin, Dynamite, Hawak Mo ang Beat, and Chinese pop songs with jean jackets and pants. The closing program reached its peak through the collab stage of Teacher Julia Lorenzo and all preschool students, as they sang Salamat, Salamat Musika.
The Preschool Department also recognized the Parent-Volunteers on stage through a photo opportunity with Vice-Principal for Academics Jan Laurice Ong and School Principal Dr. Angeline Tan. In Dr. Tan’s message, she encouraged more parents to volunteer in the learning activities of the students in the coming school year.
