Under His Reign: Sending Off Eunoia ‘26
Not all goodbyes are final farewells. Sometimes, they are just “see-yous” that send off the ones we treasure. On April 10, we did just that. The Hope community gathered to celebrate the batch graced with beautiful thinking: Eunoia 2026.
A round of applause greeted Eunoia ‘26 as they entered the Chong Pai Hun Theater Hall. Behind these guests of honor followed the procession of their Grade 12 advisers. As everyone settled in, the opening prayer and singing of the national anthem started the event officially. On behalf of the organizers, Grade 11 students, Batch President Caeley Laco opened the program by explaining the event’s theme, “Under the Reign of the King of Kings”. She connected it to Grade 12’s batch verse, Romans 12:2, and said, “In a world that constantly pressures us to conform, being under His reign means we stand firm in who we are called to be.” Laco also reminded the graduating class to move forward in their journey with courage and peace.

Opening ceremony
Sending off the Grade 12 students for their journey ahead, School Principal Dr. Angeline Tan gave a To-Bring List they must pack: knowledge they learned from their teachers, skills they have developed, values they uphold, and their guide, the Holy Spirit. She also shared a few Bible verses that can serve as the students’ loveys, the items that give comfort as they transition in life: Proverbs 3:5-6, Joshua 1:9, Jeremiah 33:3. Meanwhile, High School Administrative Supervisor Mr. Andres Ilocto celebrated the batch’s beautiful thinking. Living up to their batch name, Grade 12 students showed their pure and well-guided minds through their diligence. Mr. Ilocto commended them for their punctuality as the batch with the least tardiness record. “That is a great achievement. Though it’s not academic, it shows persistence. It [really shows] that they want to go to school every day, so congratulations for that, Grade 12,” he noted.
Special message from school administrators
The celebration took off as the Grade 11 students performed a dance medley. Three ensembles of students from the ABM, HUMSS, GAS, TVL, STEM strands and the DP Cohort 1 danced to contemporary pop songs. Their dance covers of Korean, American and Filipino songs entertained not just the Grade 12 students but also the Grade 9 and Grade 10 audience.

The stage was, then, given to Grade 12 Batch President Leannsei Gabucan to deliver her legacy message. In her address, she encouraged her batchmates to continue being the salt and light of the world as they do everything for the glory of God. She also shared a guiding truth about success and cited Proverbs 16:3. “Trust in Him and allow Him to lead your path, for He has already orchestrated everything for a purpose,” Gabucan said.
The legacy message led into the Turnover Ceremony, the meaningful handover of leadership to the next batch. ABM 12 President Janela Co handed over the Book of Knowledge to ABM 11 President Rafael Gan. The Book of Knowledge represents the quest for knowledge and wisdom that learners undertake. Entrusting the symbol for Christlikeness and camaraderie, HUMSS/GAS/TVL 12 President Margaux Co turned over the Torch of Light to HUMSS/GAS/TVL 11 President Calix Khee. Passing over the Key of Success to STEM 11 President Austin Austria, STEM 12 President Moses Qu also affirmed their potential to be the leaders of chosen fields. After which, a symbolic exchange of gifts between the Grade 11 and Grade 12 batch presidents ensued. The handover rites continued as the graduating batch bestowed their Last Will & Testament. Far from being a formal document, it is a tradition where Grade 12 students pass their titles to their Grade 11 counterparts. The titles vary depending on each student’s distinct character and personality.

Turnover ceremony
Before they embark on their next journey, Batch Eunoia took a trip down memory lane through an audiovisual presentation prepared for them. The video featured a montage of pictures from their preschool all the way to senior high school days that captured their lives as Hopeans. They could not help but giggle at their silly photos and smile, reminiscing about the memories behind the images. While having their main character moment, Eunoia ‘26 still did not miss the opportunity to showcase their musical prowess. They performed a medley of the songs “Staying,” “You’re Gonna Live Forever in Me,” “A Couple Minutes,” and “Best Part”. The harmonious performance of the live band captivated the audience. Truly, there was no other way to end the event but by such a remarkable performance. Nonetheless, the program ended with the closing remarks of Senior High School Supervisor Mr. Arvie Ubarro, a closing prayer, and the singing of the school song.
