The connection between beliefs and values, and the actions taken in response to them.

One of the things that we listed down about how we could find answers for our questions in different Lines of inquiry is to interview people from other  cultures. We invited a guest speaker, who is Canadian citizen, that helped the students answer the questions they have from our Line of Inquiry #3, which is: “The connection between beliefs and values, and the actions taken in response to them.”

The students learned that other cultures are able to see their grandparents twice a year, once on their birthday and the other time during Christmas. The speaker shared that it was a big adjustment for her, when she married a Filipino man and her mother-in-law traveled to Canada to help her to raise her son. The family ties that Filipinos have amazed her because in their country they prioritize their work.
