Amelia Bedelia is a friendly, goofy, and confused maid. She is very eager to volunteer at her local library. Literal as usual, she confuses giving Mark a book and giving him a bookmark. Amelia also learns the difference between a thesaurus and a stegosaurus. Then there is one little girl who explains to Amelia that her library book was eaten by her dog. Amelia then tries to help the little girl replace the library book while trying to help all the other children and help the librarian impress her boss. Typical Amelia Bedelia gets her and the little girl in more of a rut than they began with. Thankfully, with fate plus Amelia’s charm, she always seems to get herself out of trouble and win the day, and on top of all that, she impresses the librarians boss. The underlying theme here is that even though Amelia Bedelia may not be very helpful, she makes everyone have a smile on their face.Still, Amelia goes to great lakes to help out the library patrons and to make reading fun.
