Infinity Access: MTG Fellowship

Infinity Access: MTG Fellowship

Can you feel it approaching? The end of the school break is just around the corner! Have you been having fun? Are you spending these precious days in a good way? We hope you are because another school year of learning is preparing its way to give you a new chapter of growth and discovery, but if you are looking for inspiration to still make the most out of it, you might want to emulate how MTG students spent their vacation.

While others enjoyed their break unwinding, Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG) trainees braved the scorching heat of the tropical sun, dedicated to their love for Mathematics and their respective schools. As representatives of their schools in Math competitions, they are committed to continuously improving their skills, even at the expense of enjoying their break in other ways. With this understanding in mind, HCHS recognized such sacrifice through a simple gesture of kindness.

As HCHS hosted the MTG Training from April 21 to May 15, School Principal Dr. Angeline Tan, the Spiritual Formation Office (SFO), the Guidance Office, department heads, and faculty and staff took this chance to organize a fellowship that aimed to give MTG students and teachers a refreshing break from their training. During the 15-minute breaks in between the sessions, a booth called “Infinity Access” opened, where the participants shared snacks and enjoyed a few activities together. In this booth, the participants were also given Bible verse stickers and an opportunity to bring their concerns and requests to God through the Prayer Request Box put up. Embodying the very heart of fellowship, HCHS faculty and staff took the time to talk with the trainees, to pray for them, and to welcome them at Hope.

Thankfully, this act of service resonated with the MTG students. In their feedback, they described the fellowship as enjoyable, inspiring, and impactful. Many of them said that the sharing of the Word through Bible verse stickers given stood out to them. Some enjoyed collaborating with fellow students and also appreciated the conversations they had with the organizers.

“Thank you, Hope Christian High School, for this fellowship.”
“Thank you, dearest organizers, for coming up with this. It was nice receiving the blessings you shared,” the trainees said, expressing their gratitude for the fellowship.

The MTG Fellowship has long since culminated, but it left an example that the vacation can be spent more purposefully through improving one’s skills and building relationships. It shows that learning does not really end when school is over. The fellowship also reminds us that as we pursue growth and excellence in whatever we choose to do, there is always room for rest and meaningful connection with others.
