My Academic Journey With The Pandemic COVID-19

by Juliana Kristen  Ngo (Grade 7)

“How has the use of Zoom, Breakout Rooms, Nearpod, Quizizz, and other apps changed the way we/I learn?” Well… it has affected my learning process greatly in terms of time management, interest, and responsibility, and many more. It made me more active during recitation as well as being more confident in terms of giving and answering questions too. And with experiencing new ways of learning, I learned and discovered some valuable values that we need to embody during this pandemic/online learning. For me, the values that one must embody during this pandemic is patience. Because I discovered in our time in isolation, that we don’t know how long these lockdowns will last, for that this is the time all of us has a great chance to sit back and learn how time is the one constant during this pandemic. That no matter how grim everything seems right now, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it will only come with time. For me this is a test of patience, this will teach us to plan better and bounce back stronger than ever. Next is resilience, this pandemic has affected our livelihoods as well as our life in every way. During this time, the virus has brought out a trait that is one of the most important qualities for individuals and communities – RESILIENCE. It feels as if we can get through this, we can get through any road that lies ahead.

My words of encouragement for my fellow students is that we need to keep moving forward, even with this pandemic. That all of us are a part of something larger than yourselves. We will not let a global pandemic stop any of us from becoming who we want to be in the future. That we need to give everything that you can, never give up, stay positive, strong, healthy, and resilient!
