For our tuning in activity, the students were able to unpack the central idea by creating a mind map. Our central idea states that, “Economic activity relies on systems of production, exchange and consumption of goods and services.” The students were asked to identify and to encircle some important words from our central idea and they shared their insights about it. Next, they started to make inquiries related to past engagements and to the central idea itself, then, they put it on our wonder wall. After writing all their questions we sorted them out according to the given key concepts (function, connection and responsibility) and we finally unpacked our lines of inquiry using our essential questions.
