First semester PTC

Last August 19 and October 21, Hope Christian High School had its first semester Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) for School Year 2011 - 2012. Hope students only had their regular classes in the morning and the PTC was held 1pm onwards.

Every grading period, a PTC is conducted not only for the parents to personally get the report cards of their children, but also to personally meet the teachers of their children. They can discuss the child’s behaviour, his/her grades, as well as the performance of the child inside the classroom.

This is also an opportunity for the parent to share about the child’s personality or condition which may help the teacher in understanding the student better. The teacher can also share what the student can improve on and what his/her strengths and weaknesses are so that the parents can guide their children.

It was a festive atmosphere to see parents and students hop from one class to another. Some students are excited to see their report cards. Some nervously wait while their parents discuss matters with their teachers. Of course, there were some who can smile from ear to ear because they got good grades. But, for some students, it’s probably not so much fun to see red marks on their report card. But, not to worry, it’s only the first semester, there’s still another semester to catch up!
