Active as ever, the School City Organization (SCO) has successfully filled the first quarter learning experience with life and fun by executing healthy, interactive activities for both students and staff while balancing their studies and other commitments.
The Nutrition Month takes place during the month of July. Thus, at this time, health and proper nutrition is especially promoted.
Health and proper nutrition is greatly affected by two main factors --- cleanliness and food. To further “lift the lever” of effective promotion, two projects were effectively launched by the SCO: the all-new C.S.I. (cleanliness campaign) and the annual Iron Chef.
The all-new C.S.I. project stands for Classroom Surprise Inspection. As stated, the SCO officers randomly inspect classrooms and rate their cleanliness at unexpected occasions. The class with the best classroom maintenance grade gets announced weekly. It was launched to improve the discipline of the students in maintaining cleanliness.
On the other hand, the annual Iron Chef gives students the opportunity to fully shine and stand out with their culinary talents. Teams of chosen students from different levels prepared ingredients and cooked on the spot. They must have efficiency and creativity as they present their culinary masterpiece to the judges and state its nutritional value. Therefore, the students were able to apply efficiency, nutrition awareness, and teamwork through this contest.
Doing all these projects is hard labor, especially when balancing it with studies and other commitments like family life, relationships, activities, etc. But the SCO is very committed and passionate in serving the school with excellence.
“Managing it may be hard but through God’s grace, we can do it,” an SCO officer said.
