September 10, 2011 was a special day for the elementary students. It was special because it was the 2011 elementary sports festival. The theme for this year is “Going for More Than the Gold”.
The sportsfest started at around 7:30 in the morning. The emcees for this year’s sports festival are Angelie Ang and Kevin Hao.
First, the batch presidents raised their batch flags, followed by a prayer which was led by Jerameel Coching, a grade five student. Then the flag ceremony was led by Nathalee Cinco,a grade six student, and the singing of the school song was by Dee Jay Valencia, a grade three student. After the opening ceremonies, all grade levels had their torch-run.
This year only four batches competed --- the Conquerors (grade three), Victors (grade four), Vigors (grade five), and the Beacons (grade six).
The first part of the program is the cheer ance competition. After all the batches have performed, the other activities of the festival started.
At around 2:30 in the afternoon it was time for the awarding ceremony. This was the part that everyone was waiting for. The overall winners of the games were the grade six students, including the basketball game.
Lastly, the time came wherein the announcement of the winners of the cheer dance competition: the first runner up went to the Conquerors, which are the grade three students. The champion of the cheer dance competition for this year’s sports festival goes to the Beacons, which are the grade six students.
