The English high school teachers were able to have a firsthand experience on Apple’s latest products – the Apple MacBook Air and the iPad 2 during the Mac lecture last May 19 and 23, 2011. By tapping, flicking, and shaking, the educators were able to acquire a great deal of information in operating the gadgets.
Rowell Rubas introduced the unique features Apple offers such as the iMovie, iPhoto, the GarageBand, and their famous indemnity, the virus-free software. He said that the iMovie allows inexperienced users to edit video clips into blockbusters, and the iPhoto is an application that makes the user organize and find their photos immediately through tabs such as Faces, Places, and Events by simply dragging them.
He explained that the GarageBand can be helpful to students who are interested in learning an instrument, as well as for music teachers because the application contains an auto-correct feature which replaces the wrong notes on the spot. He continued by saying that the MacBook Air has more features and many applications which one can download (for free).
To conclude his talk, Mr. Rubas made it clear that the United States have already adopted the use of Mac in the field of education, which showed positive results, and the Philippines will also experience the same outcome if schools maximize the use of Apple products.
